Phantasy Star III Remix Roadmap

To check a different PS track list, use the home menu above, hover the “Phantasy Star Remix Roadmap” title.

Phantasy Star III is without a doubt my favorite PS game. The potential for imagination, the colorful and gorgeous characters, the cryptic fantasy/sci-fi universe and of course, the music.

I can count on one hand the tracks I don’t like in that game, with several fingers left to use. It’s no surprise that I’ve remixed heavily from this pool of fantastic melodies and it’s my secret hope (not so secret anymore) that someday, I get a note from Izuho Numata that acknowledges my homage to her rantastic work.

This is  a game that I will love forever.

Track Title:

Opening Theme

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Done!

What I think now:

This is my second oldest remix, made before 2010 so yeah, done!

Remix name: Generations of Fate

Track Title:

Shop

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

That would be fun to do as a loop, not a full mix. Not a priority.

What I think now:

Strangely still accurate in 2023!

Track Title:

Town

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Yes! Yes God YES! I love this song and it deserves my undying remixing love.

What I think now:

And so it did!

Remix name: A love song for Gwyn

Track Title:

Royal Waltz

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Sounds so hard to remix but such potential! Worth investigating.

What I think now:

 Remixing this theme was amazing.

Part of: Alisian Ballroom

Track Title:

Wedding

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

Eh…. Not really.

What I think now:

Oh, Aero from 2010, you’re so depressing.

I like the theme, still, no immediate intention.

Track Title:

Abduction

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Yes, soon! I have a great idea!

What I think now:

No kidding. This turned out to be one of my best work!

Part of: Orakian Anger

Track Title:

Dungeon (Cavern)

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Yes, eventually. With the proper idea, this would rock.

What I think now:

Part of:  Melody of Doom

But both the dungeon themes from this game deserve their own remix, I love them so much!

Track Title:

Dungeon (Mechanical)

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Without a doubt, this would make a huge remix!

What I think now:

Part of:  Melody of Doom

But both the dungeon themes from this game deserve their own remix, I love them so much!

Track Title:

World Map

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Done!

What I think now:

Another that predates this list. And that was remixed again. And again.

Remix name: Journey on Alisa 3

(There is a 2012 version of this but I never posted, the original is better, I think)

Remix name: Rhys’ Lullaby

Track Title:

Battle Starts

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

One does not remix 2 seconds long loops.

What I think now:

I know the cool kids these days really love this but I’m neither a kid, nor cool.

Nope. Stop bugging me.

Track Title:

Battle Normal

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Least interesting battle theme overall. Part of hard medley?

What I think now:

Made a good techno version of this in: Orakian Anger

And a more relatable version in:    my battle medley (incomplete)

Track Title:

Battle Losing

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Not as a standalone mix but this could be introduced in a PS3 hard medley.

What I think now:

And so it was, and it is again!

Part of: Melody of Doom

Part of my battle medley (incomplete)

Track Title:

Battle Winning

Status: Remix in progress

What I said in 2010:

Not as a standalone mix but this could be introduced in a PS3 hard medley.

What I think now:

And that’s exactly what’s happening now.

Part of my battle medley (incomplete)

Track Title:

Battle Won

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

One does not remix 2 seconds long loops.

What I think now:

Still valid.

Track Title:

Boat Ride

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

I did not review it in 2010.

What I think now:

It’s a cute song. Would fit really well in a medley between two bigger players.

Track Title:

Shusoran

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

Bleh, no.

What I think now:

This would be one of the “I can count the tracks I don’t like on my fingers”. It’s not terrible but it’s not good. It tries to be angry but all it really does is be edgy.

We’ll see.

Track Title:

Hospital

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

Ehhh… catchy but … maybe in a soft PS3 Medley.

What I think now:

Still valid. Cute melody, would make a good transition.

Track Title:

Fortune Teller

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

No. Thanks. Bye.

What I think now:

This reeks of a track that was made in 5 mins on the corner of a desk (PS III was rushed after all). It’s annoying, grating and just ininspired.

Track Title:

Castle (Layan)

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Oh yes. I need to find an idea for this but this will make a powerful remix.

What I think now:

And so I have and I did!

Part of: Alisian Ballroom

Track Title:

Dead World Map

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

Maybe. A bit simplistic for my tastes.

What I think now:

Oh Aero. It’s good that you changed. This is a nice theme and it can be worked into a standalone or a medley.

A must-do that’s for sure.

Track Title:

Wren Transforms

Status: Remix in progress

What I said in 2010:

Sega did a miracle with this on the remix CD. Still, maybe, someday.

What I think now:

Well, it’s started. No telling where it will lead me.

Track Title:

Laya’s World

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Opening theme with different instruments. Been there, done that.

What I think now:

I had such a lovely attitude. It’s part of a lovely medley now: Innocent Land

Track Title:

Laya’s Temple

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Maybe as a back melody in a soft PS3 Medley.

What I think now:

Seems like I saw the future there!

Part of Innocent Land

Track Title:

Skyhaven

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

Again, part of a soft PS3 medley, that could work.

What I think now:

After seeing what my good friend Verdegrand did with this, I see the potential for a standalone!  We’ll see!

Track Title:

Satellite

Status: Remix in progress

What I said in 2010:

Yes, I love this song but with non ear-piercing instruments please!

What I think now:

This is the remix I didn’t know I needed until I started it. How to make a gorgeous standalone  mix with a 16 seconds loop?

Find out once “A Date  in the Stars” gets released!

Track Title:

Lashute

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Yes, soon! Great idea again.

What I think now:

And so it was!

Part of: Orakian Anger

Track Title:

Dark Force

Status: Remix done!

What I said in 2010:

Not as a standalone mix but this could be introduced in a PS3 hard medley.

What I think now:

First part of: Melody of Doom, this was met with limited success.

A much better version is coming in my   Battle Medley

Track Title:

Megido

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

Part of a PS3 soft medley? We’re getting a few candidates here.

What I think now:

Still valid!

Track Title:

Ending Theme (Aron-Crys)

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

Not particularly no. Maybe when I’m old and retired

What I think now:

I still think this is the weakest of the two ending tracks but I also know that I can make it amazing so, IN YOUR FACE, 2010 AEROPRISM!

Track Title:

Ending Theme (Sean-Adan)

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

Sega already topped everything I could do on their remix CD. Unlikely.

What I think now:

Yeah, I stopped thinking like this years ago.

Always room for me to do different.

Or better.

Track Title:

Staff Roll

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

No particular interest.

What I think now:

Ah, to be young and edgy.

I’m interested, now. I will eventually do this.

Track Title:

Game Over

Status: No remix started

What I said in 2010:

One does not remix 2 seconds long loops.

What I think now:

Granted, it’s more 5 seconds than 2, but still valid.
